The Bog Bilberry is closely related to Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) and can be found throughout the Northern Hemisphere. It grows in a variety of places as long as acidic soil is present (e.g. bogs, hence the name).
Unlike the Bilberry, the Bog Bilberry has brown stems instead of green ones. It produces edible fruits that are a dark blue colour and the flowers are a pale pink. The flowers are produced around mid-spring while the berries ripen towards the end of summer. 
It is quite common in Sweden and can be found throughout the country.
